UPDATED WEBSITE
We are always aware of trying to make our website as user friendly as possible, but we sometimes get complaints or suggestions about how we can improve, and we are aware ourselves of the things we don’t like about some websites! With that in mind, I have revamped the front page and navigation of www.charitygoods.com and also completely changed the look of the Shopping Cart. I would welcome your comments, good or bad, on these! Email me at info@charitygoods.com
TOGS CONVENTION
The TOGs Convention was held at Leicester University, or Guatemala, over the weekend 29th to 31st August. Overall it was a great success with Rangatang entertaining Sir Terry and our Radio 2 guests on the Friday afternoon, and the inspirational Dizzy Sing (otherwise known as Fiona Clarke) teaching a reluctant bunch of TOGs that the could actually sing, and the resultant version of Somagwaza can be see on You Tube HERE. She also taught us all to sing the ‘TOG SONG’ which we had written especially for the convention and will be producing and making available on our website in a couple of weeks for purchase as a souvenir of the event. There are photographs from the event on www.togscalendar.org as well so you can see some of the things we got up to. We had quite a few ‘Convention Virgins’ this time, and generally everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly. We have posted feedback on the convention website as well, both good and the not so good, and have tried to answer any problems to the best of our ability. If you are thinking of joining us next year, keep an eye on the site for details of dates and venue, also these will be in the next Charity Goods Newsletter! If you need any more information, email tudor@togsconvention.org
CHILDREN IN NEED MERCHANDISE – ON SALE NOW
The 2008 BBC Children in Need range of merchandise is now available and we have a good selection of the items on our website now. Check it out through the ‘SHOPPING’ link on the front page.
ECO FRIENDLY SHOPPER
One of the latest fun items on our shopping pages is an environmentally friendly Jute Shopping Bag with the logo ‘I AM A TOG’ emblazoned on the front. The bag is made with Jute and natural biodegradable products. Jute is environmentally friendly and when discarded will decompose leaving only valuable nutrients. This is a multi purpose shopping bag, very durable and also ideal for books, the expandable gusset (20cm) means it will hold a surprising amount for a small bag! An ideal and inexpensive Christmas Gift for the environmentally aware TOG! Here’s a quick link to the Bag – QUICK LINK. We also have a new ‘Man Bag’ which is a non-TOG product bearing just the Logos of BBC Children in Need and BBC Radio 2!
TOG VOYAGE
I believe there are still some places left for TOGs to book on the Cunard TOG Voyage in aid of BBC Children in Need, albeit they might now be just the expensive cabins! Check out details HERE
PHOTO COMPETITION
The Photo Competition turned out to be a little tricky, and we only had 3 correct answers from over a hundred entries! We have been a little busy of late and haven’t had a chance to get one of the Radio 2 personalities to make the draw, but we hope to do that next week, and will publish the answer and a new competition as soon as possible after that.
